Current Studio hosted Town Hall Meetings for artists in the Oklahoma City metro area. The focus of these meetings was to collectively discuss the growing needs of the artists living and working in the Oklahoma City area. Topics of discussion were open but could include issues such as public art and exhibition opportunities, affordable studios, health insurance, participating in fundraisers, pricing, and community building.
The meetings were moderated by Julia Kirt and special guests unique to each Town Hall discussion. The moderators role was to help the audience identify some of the needs, questions, and concerns that the Oklahoma City artist community faces.
These meetings were intended for artists only. The conversation was centered around visual art practices, but artists of other disciplines are welcome to attend. If an artist works for an arts organization, they were welcome to come as their artist self, but not as a representative of an organization.
